CURRENT PROJECTS

Victoria is working on the manuscript for a new book, An Archeology of Whiteness, comprising a history of the colour white and whiteness from Antiquity to the present. An important issue for contemporary Western culture is the “invention of whiteness” in the context of race history and theory. This and the aesthetics of whiteness (white beauty) will be addressed in two chapters. Other chapters will include colour-thinking in philosophy, the arts (primarily painting and sculpture), religion, and Western culture at large.
